Gordon unboxes and reviews the Asus Zenbook S 13 OLED and the AMD Ryzen 7 6800U CPU inside to see just how fast this 8-core laptop is. He runs use through a march of benchmarks that measure everything from video editing to Microsoft Office performance compared to an Core i7-1195G7, as well as the older generation Ryzen 7 4800U & 5800U. We also get to see the fantastic RDNA 2 based GPU performance in a handful of games, proving that you can indeed do some gaming on a thin and light laptop like this. Just needs a 360 degree hinge... 😭
So usb 4 is completely backwards compatible with tb3 and has some functionalities of tb4. The reason for usb 4 rollout is so that brands like amd dont have to license intel for a heavily fragmented protocol, as well as usb 4 seeks to consoloidate everything in to 1 package. If a usb 4 port doesnt support all protocols, it cannot be labelled as usb 4 or has to be very transparent as to what it can support (i cant remember off the top of my head which route they ended up taking).
Iirc apple even have to label their 2020 m1 pro with usb 4 instead of tb4 as it couldnt output the display requirements of tb4, but met all usb 4 requirements, and usb 4 was a better claim than tb3
Is there any 2 in 1 device with Ryzen 6800U?
Jesus just get it out. Write a script next time because this is unbearable
Nice mic, nice camera, yet it might as well have been filmed on an iPhone from bed.
Can the ssd be updated/changed by a bigger one like 2to ?
you forgot to point out that is 2in1
I like what AMD does - announces 6000 series chips like when ... Back in January 2022? Almost 7 months later - reviewers are saying - laptops with ryzen 6000 will be available in 2-3 months ? I mean what the hell hahahah AMD
Please do test the laptop speakers too as it is an important aspect of modern day laptops.
Now just sell It with a Linux distro.
Wtf is a "Puja" bench lol?
When do you think the laptop will be purchasable?
I really appreciate that you did the USB4/TB3 test and even if some work seems needed, you are the only reviewer who at least gave it a try so kudos.
I wanted to renew my laptop since last year but TB3 support to have some advanced docks and eGPU enclosure compatibility are what hyped the most to wait for Ryzen 6000 (and the RDNA iGPU).
Keep up the good work!
Will steamos work on this ?
Really nice review! Did you get a chance to review the IdeaPad Slim 7 Carbon 14" 2.8K OLED AMD Ryzen 7-5800U?
Thanks for a detail review. I always wanted to get an Asus laptop, tried a lot in local store, but found the keyboard to be a little bit mushy compared to other well known brands. Asus price is usually lower than competitors with the same spec, this is a plus. I’m torn 🤣
I can't wait to get a laptop with a Ryzen 7 6800U so I can slap Linux on it :)
Rubbish review man , atleast show the real performance rather than graphical representation. Fool 😡😡😡👎👎👎
I was considering getting this one but upon reading the comments l.. idk anymore 😐
unfair comparison, it sould be compared to Intel® Core™ i7-1250U
