Hey there design champs! Today I made two logo options for Alex. My goal was to make the logo designs look mostly hand drawn. It can be difficult create a vector logo that still looks natural or hand drawn. I started by drawing the two logo concepts on a piece of paper. Then I transferred those ideas into photoshop. In photoshop I took the brush tool and drew over my real life drawings. Once I had the logo designs completely colored, I went back through and erased (you can use the mask tool if you want to be a pro logo designer) the lines of the drawing. This leaves you with a colored in design that has the lines removed. Once you have the the design looking natural and drawn in photoshop change the image to black and white. Then take a screenshot of your logo and open the screenshot in adobe illustrator. Once you have your hand drawn logo design in illustrator, you can use the image trace tool to turn it into a vector design. You can change the adjustment settings in the image trace tool to create the perfect hand draw vectorized look. After the logo has been vectorized you can ungroup the shapes and color them to your heart’s content. I hope you guys enjoy the process and give this technique a try! HOW TO DRAW 3D PICTURES Have you ever wondered how to make your drawings pop and come to life? Learn how to draw 3D steps with ME! 1.Start by sketching a rectangle. Draw two vertical lines, making sure the spacing on the left side is slightly wider than the space on the right. Draw another vertical line about the same length as the first. Draw a diagonal line and a horizontal line like in the image. 2. Repeat this process to continue the staircase. Make sure all of the diagonal lines are parallel to one another. 3. Continue this process to the far right side of the rectangle. 4. Trace around the image with a darker pencil or pen, and erase all unwanted pencil marks. Fill the top area with black. 5. With a pencil, lightly sketch in a second set of steps on the left side. The illusion still works without these extra steps, but they will add extra effect. Trace around them with a darker pencil or pen. 6. Add some shading to the narrow rectangular shapes, like in the image. Fill in the bottom side with black. 7. It took me nearly five years to complete this massive map of North America. Hand-drawn entirely with colour pencils and fine-liner pen, it contains tens of thousands of details - including countless skylines and animals, all laid across a landscape faithfully to geography. It spans from the tundra to the tropics - from Greenland, Alaska and Nunavut, through all of Canada, all of the United States, all of Mexico, into Central America and the Caribbean. The ocean, too, is filled with details. This map is a tribute to a continent of incredible variety, and a project I never imagined would be so extensive when I began. In this video I share my journey with the map and how it was drawn, right in the studio where it all happened in Melbourne. In this video, we are going to use the drawing tools in Adobe illustrator to trace a drawing. We are going to be using the pen tool, the brush tool, the blob brush tool and the Eraser tool to convert a scanned in sketch drawing into vector artwork. By the end of this tutorial you will be very familiar with the drawing tools and equipt with the knowledge to create your own artwork. I will also be sharing some of my tips and tricks.
